One day while out at the location, owners Adam and Gayle saw a little fox running across the landscape. Taking it as a sign, the name was locked in. This then helped everyone decide on the primary brand colour: red.
The restaurant's goal was to provide a welcoming, family-friendly environment paired with expertly crafted fine dining-style food, so the branding had to deliver on that aesthetic: sophisticated yet friendly.

Little Red Fox Eatery was located at a picturesque winery in Marcus Hill, Victoria. With a lush, rolling landscape and the (sometimes very) odd sculpture dotted around, it was definitely a feast for the eyes as much as the tastebuds.
The head of the fox logomark was designed to be used on its own as a location marker on maps and in other areas where a small mark would provide better recognition and clarity than the full logo.
The full logo design portrays a curled-up fox—a position into which foxes only go when comfortable and safe. The circular shape of the fox is inspired by the sun (to symbolise warmth and new beginnings) and a dinner plate (because restaurant). In colour psychology, red is also known to stimulate appetite.
